Founded in the late 1800’s, the small west Texas town of Throckmorton has been site of historical importance and interwoven relationships. Through working with the community to gain access into buildings and onto private property, the intention of this explorative series is to document everyday life, forgotten spaces, and sites relevant to the history of Texas.
The process of being accepted and submerged into rich culture by the people of Throckmorton is a fascinating journey. I have found that through my interactions, there is an established level of trust fueled by curiosity that takes lead. Such experiences attribute to the foundation of this progressive body of work and directly influence each image in the series.
