My most recent body of work, Somewhere, Texas, is a series of images taken with a 4x5 large format view camera. Exploring to find each location is just the beginning, the in-depth artistic process involves developing film sheets, scanning to create large format files, and spot toning each image. The amount of time spent on each photograph further develops the intimate connection felt with the subject matter as the beauty of analog and my passion for studio processes come together. In the digital age of seemingly instant gratification, my love of traditional black and white film photography further develops my patience in creating works of art.
